G. Mo hits the Kwik-E-Mart
Yep, it's official... I have way too much time on my hands. With nothing to do one Saturday afternoon, I visited our local 7-Eleven which had been transformed in a Kwik-E-Mart for 30 days to promote The Simpsons movie. What did I do there you may ask. Well, I gathered items that I could sell on eBay to true Simpsons fans of course. Got some cases of Buzz Cola, a few boxes of Krusty O's cereal and a Blue Woo-Hoo! Vanilla Squishee (aka Slurpee) and a few Pinkalicious donuts for myself. You can't be surprised at that. I'll hustle pretty much anything legal. It's in my blood, what can I say? I was one of the lucky ones I guess. The deal struck between 7-Eleven and Fox allowed for the conversion of only 11 of their stores nationwide. Thus Simpson lovin' folks from all over were coming to the DC area cuz the only other Kwik-E-Mart stores on the east coast were in NY and Orlando.
I sat outside the store in Bladensburg, MD for like 15 minutes and the spectacle was ridiculous. Folks were standing outside taking pics like they were at the club with a champagne bottle or sports car behind them. Hey, I was armed with my new camera and I took a 'few' pics myself. But I wasn't about to pose with no cardboard cut-outs, but a ton of other folks were doing it and having fun. The workers in the store seemed to be enjoying the excitement. Hell, they were even dressed up like Apu. Did I mention that I went back to the store 2 days later to get more stuff to sell??? lol

All in all, it was a chill afternoon, but I gotta get back to focusing on putting the final touches to this wedding....
